 in northern Minnesota.  Skip and his wife travel all over 

the U.S. and have supplied me with photos for many future paintings!

Mom and Dad's back yard in Iowa.  The foliage was added 

from my imagination.  It's the first painting I've done using leaves and berries 

and I'm anxious to try it again!  The original is SOLD

This was my first finished portrait.  I took the photo

 indoors and the lighting was great.  I was pleased with the result and

found that portrait painting isn't so scary after all!  I'm finding it

to be very satisfying.

I've almost finished this painting.  These two girls were 

photographed in Copper Canyon, Mexico. 

 Photo credit to Galen Frysinger.  It hasn't been varnished yet, so

it will be fun to see how it will look when it's complete.  

I'll have to live with it a few days to decide if it's finished.

Historical Mural

I'm excited to have been chosen to paint a historical mural on the American Legion building in Gilbert, AZ.  I'm working in conjunction with the Gilbert Leadership Class.  I'm finishing up on the design now and will keep you posted!

Paintings in the GVAL Art Show

The Gilbert Visual Art League 10th Annual Juried Show and Sale begins today and goes through Feb. 16th. I'm posting the three oil paintings that I have displayed there.  Come and check out the show if you're in the area.  The show is hosted by East Side Art located at 9919 E. Lately a lot of my friends back in Iowa have been asking to see my art.  I now have an "online presence" with  Contemporary Fine Art International.  When I mentioned blogging to my niece, she asked if I have that much to say!  Well, probably not, but I will share photos of my paintings as I finish them.  I'm starting out slowly.....so here goes!  This was painted from a photo.  I haven't added it to any art sites yet.
